Wash your motorcycle at home
Washing your motorcycle at home is not complicated, but you must be careful not to damage its parts or the paint, for this we must be very attentive and concentrated. To wash the motorcycle you will need the following materials: Neutral soap, sponge, cotton rags, kitchen paper, bucket, brush, degreaser, lubricating oil to grease chains and water.
Use cleaning products that do not contain salt or corrosive materials and in this way you will avoid damaging the paint of your motorcycle.
When you have the materials to use ready, place the motorcycle in a place with enough space to be able to wash it completely. Remember that it must be off and cold to avoid accidents.
Clean the dirtiest areas first: with a sponge or a cloth and degreasing liquid, especially the rims.
Rinse the entire motorcycle: if you have a hose it will be much easier to wet the entire surface, if you do not have one, use a bucket full of water to remove the layer of dust or mud adhering to the parts of your motorcycle.
Time to use the sponge: lather each part of the motorcycle with the sponge and neutral soap. For this step, use a bucket of warm water by hand to soak the sponge as many times as necessary until the motorcycle is completely covered with the soap. Do not forget to remove the degreaser that we had previously applied well, all this using a cotton cloth. The sponge will be essential to clean these places where we had previously applied the degreaser. Lather and scrub as many times as necessary to achieve optimal results.
Wash the chain: if you want the chain of your motorcycle to be really clean, you will have to insist a little more to make it perfect. We advise you to wear gloves from this step to avoid staining your hands a lot. After putting them on, take the degreaser and apply it on a brush. Raise the rear tire a bit and start rolling it so that the chain moves and makes it easier for you to brush all over it. You will have to spend a good time to leave the chain completely prepared and perfect for cleaning.
Remove the soap to prevent stains from forming: you can gradually remove the soap to prevent it from drying on the paint and causing stains on it, treat the surface carefully to avoid scratches.
Rest: try to let it dry for at least 5 minutes. Ideally, after these 5 minutes, move your motorcycle away from the area that is wet and let it rest on the side shelf in another floor space that is dry.
Dry all the paint: make sure not to leave spaces with soap or water, if the motorcycle is very wet, dry it with a clean cloth. To give it more shine, pass a kitchen paper towel very gently.
Grease the chain: finally, don't forget to grease the chain and add the necessary fluids so that everything works perfectly. To avoid dirtying the wheel when greasing the chain, put some newspaper to cover the rim and avoid splashing on it.
For everything to go well, we recommend that you have several rags on hand, use warm water if possible because the dirt will come out much easier and do not forget to use gloves. Washing a motorcycle can perfectly take more than an hour and you will have your hands exposed to water and cleaning products continuously.
Remember that you can always take your motorcycle with the professionals if you do not want to wash it at home.
